Planning permission granted for 40 storey landmark tower

Williams Gallagher has secured planning permission (subject to Section 106) for Ryland Estates Limited on Bristol Street in Birmingham.

Designed by Stephenson Hamilton Risley Studio, this development will provide 550 apartments in buildings of 7 storeys fronting Essex Street, 11 storeys fronting Bristol Street and a landmark 40 storey building on the Bristol Street/Bromsgrove Street corner each arranged a central landscaped courtyard.

The project received scrutiny at Planning Committee in 2024 despite clear officer support - Williams Gallagher, alongside an experienced team, were however able to overcome said scrutiny, garnering the overwhelming support for the proposal by Members at Planning Committee on 5 June 2025.
